A CLARION CALL ON THE REGISTRAR OF OSUN STATE POLYTECHNIC IREE

Silence in an unjust society simply means acceptability or consent. In lieu of this, I outrightly shoulder the responsibility of calling on those using extra time in the service of Osun state government by considering the number of unemployed youths and those graduating on yearly basis, one should know that it is important for those "Akintola Taku" civil servants to leave the stage in order to create employment spaces for the numerous jobless youths who are carrying certificates up and down.

Sometimes in May 2022, I launched a searchlight on all Osun State owned tertiary institutions, the reason behind this was to ensure normalcy in the system and expose every fraudulent and inhuman behavior of Teaching and Non Teaching staff. 

This is what prompted me to honourably advise the incumbent Registrar of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Barrister B.M Salawu to proceed on retirement, truly he has served his state meritoriously and it's advisable to leave the stage now that the ovation is loudest.

After acting for months, as the Registrar of the Institution, Barrister B.M Salawu officially became Registrar of Osun state polytechnic Iree in 2014 and he signed an internal memo with the a heading "Re: Revised scheme of service for NBTE, Polytechnics and other tertiary institutions, September 2013" on 24th July, 2014. 

In the memo it was indicated that the Governing Council of the institution (Iree Poly) at it's meeting of Monday 16th December 2013 considered and approved the adoption of Revised scheme of service for implementation in the Institution (Iree Poly). In the said Revised scheme all appointed principal officers of the institution like Rector, Registrar are expected to use 5years single term.

According to my investigation, Barrister Salawu officially became Registrar of the institution in May 2014 and he is expected to bow out of service this year, precisely, May, 2022, assuming he applied old scheme of 4years single term in which he is entitled to a second term, but nothing has been done till date.

There is a particular issue that needs to be investigated as well, how can institutions having the same Visitor be running in different manners. In Osun state College of Technology Esa-Oke Registrar and Bursar of the Institution were changed as expected at the right time, Osun state college of Education Ila is not exempted but reverse is the case with Iree Poly and these institutions have the same Visitor i.e. Governor Gboyega Oyetola, I am now wondering why principal officers of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree have always overstayed in office.

My findings on this citadel of learning shows there are several staff and principal officers whose tenures have expire but failed.or refused to bow out of service honorably. Although, their issues will be discussed and revealed to the public soonest.

It is now important to call on Governor Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Hon Bamisayemi and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Education, Hon Jamiu Olawumi to look into this matter and act as expected by people of the state. It's simply a word of advice.

Apparently in a bid to tackle the menace, government at all levels is expected to issue a memo warning any officer caught engaging in such unbecoming act. Professor Durodoye Appeals For Peace In Ifon-Osun, Erin-Osun & Ilobu

Raifu Oyewole Durodoye a professor of mathematics at Dallas College, Dallas, Texas, United States of America and illustrious son of Osogbo has appealed For Peace In Ifon-Osun, Erin-Osun & Ilobu. The Chieftain of All Progressive Congress, APC, expressed deep sympathy to residents of Ifon-Osun, Erin-Osun, and Ilobu communities over the recurring communal conflict in that part of Osun State.
