A CLARION CALL ON OSUN STATE ACCOUNTANT GENERAL: MR RASHEED O. ALABI
"Office dey say will see the end of Akowe", this parable appears now not to be valid but in the olden days as many "Akowes" becoming too tenacious, are not ready to leave office this time around but virtually everything in life is temporary, life itself is ephemeral! So, it should be at the back of our minds that one day,we are going to leave whatever we are doing and if we refuse to leave it, it will leave us, that is the bitter truth. Office predates Officers! And it will outlast them but the good will do with the office will linger on.
In this regard, I want to personally appreciate a good man who oversees the Accounts of this State and without denting his name, Mr Rasheed O Alabi, the Osun State Accountant General (AG), I want to thank him for the good service he has been rendering to the state and to let him be aware that he remains one of the best AG Osun State Government has ever had.
Although, "A ki mo rin ki Ori o ma mi" only God is perfect, but as a human being the incumbent AG has performed beautifully well.
I am equally congratulating him in advance as he will be clocking 60th on the 14th of March, 2024, nothing is better than to rest at the right time as stated in the extant civil service law.
The remaining days of your life will not be spent in pains, poverty and regret. Amen
Accountant General Sir, in the interest of the state and your love for the young generation whom you also believe, are leaders of today but currently wandering around, seeking for white-collar job almost nonexistent. Kindly, vacate the seat at the due time, your Notice of Retirement Letter must have been on the Mr Governor's table by now, in line with six (6) months notice stated in the civil service extant law.
NYSC produces thousands of Osun state indigenes as graduates every year and no viable companies or industries in the state that can employ the mass. But, if those who are ripe for retirement leave at the right time there will be enough room to infuse new blood and a certain percentage of these young graduates will be duly employed.
I am humbly calling on the AG to consider this as a noble call for the greater good of our dear state. Also in the interest of the public and to put an end to this sit tight syndrome, Mr Governor should instruct evey retiring Officers to turn in their notice of retirement six months before due date.
Yours in the struggle,
Bashorun Adekanola Desmond Abiodun.
