Dispute over Oke Arungbo, Awosuru Area land deepens as buyers warned to steer clear of the land.

A legal dispute surrounding parcels of land at Oke-Arungbo, Awosuru Area, Osogbo, Osun state, has prompted a warning to prospective buyers to avoid transactions involving the property pending the resolution of ongoing court cases.

In a public statement issued by Movement For Better Osun (MFBO), the group revealed that approximately 23.823 hectares of land are currently the subject of active litigation at the Osun State High Court.

SUIT No: HOS/92/2021

The group alleged that despite the pending legal proceedings, certain individuals and entities have continued to market, transact, and encroach upon the land, in defiance of court injunctions.

The group also stated that someone had already secured an injunction restraining the opposing party and its associates from dealing with or interfering with the land in any form. It emphasized that this court order remains in force and must be obeyed.

“We caution all members of the public not to engage in any dealings concerning the land while it remains a subject of litigation,” the statement read. “Any such transaction is unlawful, null, and constitutes trespass.”

MFBO further advised that any transactions with marketers or agents on the said land is illegal and such person or company may be exposing themselves to legal risks, including potential contempt of court.

The group reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law and said it will monitor all legal avenues alongside the rightful owners to protect the property from land grabbers.
